Wonderful Business Trip!

You simply cannot go wrong with Gustavo and with Terracanto Experiences. I travelled as part of a larger business group to Morelia, MX and all of the travel arrangements were handled with the greatest deal of attention and care. All of our transportation needs were met and were both punctual and comfortable. Similarly, all of our food and sightseeing options were well organized, catered to our interests, and culturally immersive. I cannot recommend Gustavo and Terracanto Experiences highly enough!

Everything we hoped for and then some...

TERRACANTO Experiences organized a 13-day business and research trip visiting farm projects in Mexico for my husband and me. Gustavo contacted suppliers and farm partners, arranged accommodation and drove a total of 2046km through six different states. He found farm to table restaurants where we had delicious food, and in the few hours of down time he introduced us to life in some of the colorful small towns, the beautiful countryside, including a national park and including a perfectly timed visit to the archaeological site at Teotihuacan, where we got to see the pyramids at dusk. Gustavo patiently translated for hours English to Spanish to English, and here's what makes TERRACANTO not just excellent but elevates to a class of its own: his sensitivity, experience and deep knowledge about (Mexico's) history, sociology, culture and environmental issues provided a wealth of additional information and context. It transformed our trip from successful into an exceptional experience that exceeded all expectations. Thank you!

Effortless & Enjoyable Business Trip with Professional & Adaptable Travel Agent

Gustavo of Terracanto Experiences is the best travel agent I have worked with. I coordinated a week-long business trip for a group of 20 people and trusted Gustavo to manage every detail. We traveled to the state of Michoacán, Mexico, visiting a city I had never been to before. After sharing our itinerary, Gustavo organized our flights, hotels, transportation, restaurant reservations, and every logistical detail. Excellent Trip for Culturally Meaningful Experiences

This trip was beautifully curated and thoughtfully executed. All of the activities were grounded in respect for the local culture and built off of one another to create a trip that was both educational and a ton of fun. The group was large enough to where everyone was able to co-mingle and create their own relationships, but not so large to where it got overwhelming. Our guide, Gustavo, was an ideal choice for this trip, as he was attentive, accommodating, knowledgeable, and made sure we were all taken care of in any way we needed. He made an unforgettable trip for all of us.

Rich and Delightful Tour of a Lesser Known Part of Mexico

Just got back from a wonderful 12-day trip to Mexico that was curated and led by Gustavo, the founder of Terracanto Experiences. The trip included explorations of cities, towns, and natural areas in the beautiful Bajio region of central Mexico, northwest of Mexico City. It was done in coordination with a Spanish language school in California, and the group of 17 consisted mostly of adult Spanish students. The focus of the trip was to learn about and experience the culture and history of Mexico in general and the Bajio region of Mexico in particular. Gustavo was an outstanding trip leader, in part because he had done a lot of scouting and preparation ahead of time, in part because of his work experience, and in large part because of his positive, can-do approach. He worked for many years for Mexico’s state department, and I think his years of living abroad in countries like Canada, France, and the U.S.A. have left him with a deep understanding of what it is like to travel and what most travelers to a foreign country want to learn and experience. His passion and enthusiasm for Mexico’s culture and history was contagious. He’s also cool as a cucumber under pressure, has an excellent sense of humor, and is basically just a great guy. A highlight of the trip was witnessing the Independence Day celebrations that took place in the town of Dolores Hidalgo, where Mexico’s struggle for independence from Spain began in 1810. We watched the traditional speech that ends in “Viva Mexico!” live from a rooftop bar, crowded with locals – a once in a lifetime opportunity that I won’t forget. We also participated in a callejoneada in Guanajuato: dancing, singing, and parading with a mariachi band at night. In terms of logistics, Gustavo communicated the next day’s activities each day through a group chat (and was always available and responsive to individual questions or concerns). The schedule was nicely balanced between activities and meals that were included in the price of the tour and optional activities. Travelers had plenty of opportunities for free time and plenty of opportunities for additional activities, as they so chose. The tour was also a great value: it was neither sold nor priced as a luxury tour, but included many meals (including two dinners prepared by local chefs), guided tours with excellent local guides (such as the universally loved Mariana in Guanajuato), visits with local artists and artisans, entrance fees to many museums and sites, and hands-on activities such as a painting workshop and a cooking class (now I know how churros are made). The hotels were generally in historic buildings, which was a nice touch, and centrally located. The hotel in San Miguel de Allende, for example, was literally across the street from the main church and just down the street from the central town square. My wife and I would love to travel with Gustavo again, and in fact have already signed up to be notified about future trips that Terracanto Experiences is planning.
